Roughly a week ahead of time, just after the pack gets back to the territory.
Late evening, almost midnight.
Sighing softly, the golden girl rolled from one side to another, unable to keep still. She tried to keep quiet, but small whines continued to escape from her maw as she tried to satisfy the burning fire that ached in her abdomen. She knew that she was in heat, this had happened before, but the feeling was much greater than it had been last time. An emerald green gaze looked around at the wolves sleeping around her, she had moved slightly away from the others; so as to not disturb them with her unable to keep still. Her gaze rested briefly on her friend Kieth, before moving on and landing on Koda.
Her breath caught in her throat as she watched his chest rise and fall as he breathed. She looked over at him, his face looked relaxed as he slept, peaceful almost. Blinking her eyes, she looked away from Koda, and another small whine escaped from her maw. She tried to occupy herself by grooming her fur, but that only sent tremors down her spine, aggravating the burning in her abdomen.
After a few more unsettled minutes, the golden girl got to her feet and quietly padded out of the den. A breeze blasted into her face as she exited the den, and it felt good to feel it blow through her golden fur. She didn't know what to do, as she was unable to sleep. But she knew what she wanted. Koda.
His touch was the only thing that could sate her body's need, but she didn't know how he felt about her. Or even if he liked her at all other than for a pack mate. Growling softly to herself, she padded forwards, not caring where she went, just trying to distract her mind about the need that her body was craving.
Saru was surprised as she came upon a large lake, with the mirror image of the moon shining down upon its surface. This was most likely the place that Koda had told her about, and it was beautiful. Looking up into the sky, she gazed at the white moon that was steadily climbing higher in the sky, almost at its peak. But even looking around at the land around her couldn't quiescent the burning feeling, only one thing could keep the feeling at bay.
Whining softly to herself, Saru rolled over onto her back, snaking back and forth, before rolling onto her stomach, feeling the blades of grass beneath her stomach and pelvis; she rocked her hips forward but felt no satisfaction. With a small whine, the golden girl sat on her haunches. There had to be a way to cure this wonderful but frustrating sensation.
She needed Koda now, more than she had ever needed someone else before.
