The brown wolf Nina looked directly in Ava's direction and then said something to Koda. Ava froze, how could she be so stupid? She had been so reckless in assuming that they would be so deaf to not had of heard her. She could only see two choices put in front of her now: Leave or Come out. She knew right after they finished with Rontu they would investigate the brush she was spying in. Being discovered without her consent wasn't really her ideal of meeting this pack. She Ava withdrew from her hiding place to go search for another. She tried to stay as quiet as possible so it probably seemed as if a badger was rustling in the woods. Then to her horror a wind blew towards her throwing her scent to the nearby pack.
Her tail lashed in annoyance. Now that they had her scent they would able to track her. There was no use in hiding and watching them any longer. She padded forward through the brush her head held high in confidence. What was the worst they could do anyway? Attack her? Well she took note earlier that there were no pack borders around to warn rogues. Even she could tell that this pack was in disarray. She stood a few paces away from both her former hiding spot and the Alpha, Koda. She let a slight smile come to her lips.
"Hi, my name's Avaline. Though call me Ava its shorter. I...uh, couldn't help noticing your pack here. So I decided to...um, hang around." She had a bit of a hard time trying to get around the words observing and spying. Though she guessed it wasn't really spying since she belonged to to pack. So was she spying for herself? She guessed so she had been observing them for her own benefit after all not others. She had her gaze on Koda, her intense amber eyes fixed to him. She made sure her body language was confident, her head up, eyes level with his her tail hanging out behind her like a flag.
Not the smartest way to adress a pack let alone its alpha but she didn't really care at the moment. He was still a bit ticked off at being discovered so soon.

Shy had rolled onto her side and now stared blankly into the forest wondering what had prompted her to call like that, surely she had at least 3 days more travel in her until she would really need help. Just staying in the same spot seemed to slowly draw strength back into her bones. The cream furred she wolf heard the rustling a moment before another she wolf appeared Dammit thought Shy silently. The great she wolf warrior, the silent assassin, found lying on her side in a glade, of battle wounds? No she is just tired. She silently reprimanded herself with her old names.

As the other she wolf made her approach Shy closed her eyes and tilted her head back in the female's direction. Come on hurry up already, none of these move like any warrior I've ever known. She irately thought to herself, If she made that much noise and moved that slowly she would have been dead many years ago. It's a miracle other wolves survived for so long in her mind. But then she had been a loner her entire life she knew nothing but speed and blood, survival and death, this was surely some broken pack. As 'Nina' spoke Shy opened her eyes revealing a startling sharp shade of sand, her eyes the kind that bored into ones very thoughts and feelings. Shy offered up words of her own "Shy, and what might you be able to offer that could help me?" She spoke not with any kind of anger nor did she speak, merely it was guarded speech, the big she wolf rolled back to her belly and stood facing Nina, wondering how she could possibly be 'helped' by this weak pack. Little did she know they would help each other In great ways.

As the black she-wolf stated her name and intent, Saru relaxed her posture but still kept her ears on alert for any more noises. "Welcome, Rontu," She spoke softly. Then, a howl sounded from far away. How many wolves are there around here? She thought to herself. It seemed that when a wolf was just travelling, there were no wolves. But when one was looking for pack members, they were everywhere. Shaking her head, she looked back to Rontu. The she-wolf looked nice, hopefully she would join their small pack. Saru heard Koda order Nina to go check on the wolf. From her reaction, it seemed as if Nina wasn't used to taking orders. Well, maybe it was because Koda was ordering her around.

Then, as the wind shifted, a new scent perceived her nose. It was unfamiliar to her, and must be the cause of the snapping stick. As she looked in the direction of the new scent, another she-wolf appeared. Like Rontu, she was black but had a white spot on her chest. The new wolf, Avaline she said her name was, held her posture exactly like like Koda's. Narrowing her eyes, she gave a soft, practically inaudible growl. This arrogant wolf had the nerve to stand up to Koda like that. Just by looking at Ava, she knew they would have trouble getting along together in the beginning, if not forever. Glancing at Koda, she kept silent and watched the two new females in frnt of them.

Although he kept his gaze on Rontu, he couldn't help but notice the attitude with which Nina greeted his request. His tone had carried a hint of authority, as it should, but he had asked after all. Perhaps he would need to speak privately with her later and see if there was anything that was bothering her. When she had first answered his call, she had seemed more like her old self. Yet now as she stalked off towards the howl, there seemed to be waves of anger rolling off of her. He supposed that there would be time to sort that out later.

For now, he had to focus on two things. First, the loner before him, Rontu. She said that she'd been exploring and had scented them. Likely she'd heard the call too and had been curious. An inquisitive nature was not a bad thing to be sure. He wondered if she search for a home or merely answers to her curious nature about who they were. The second was the loner that had been hiding in the bushes as Nina had so kindly pointed out. Before he had a chance to react, the unseen wolf, who must have realized that she'd been made by the keen senses of Nina, sauntered forward.

His golden gaze left Rontu, who had at least had the good sense to enter their group with respect and friendliness and shifted fully to the newest wolf to enter the arena. Avaline, or Ava, she introduced herself. She walked into a potential lion's den with far too much confidence, especially for a fae that had been slinking in the shadows mere moments before. Koda's head lifted above the impudent fae's and a low growl left his throat at her insolence. She may not have trespassed as they were rootless for the moment, but she acted as if she belonged and had the right to behave so loftily. The only thing that saved her was that she had kept her tail neutrally positioned. Normally, he would not have been so particular, but the apparent upheaval in his fledgeling pack had him off kilter and Nina's turbulent behavior had not helped his mood.

Koda took a few long calming breaths, trying to regain his composure before addressing the cheeky girl. "Ava. You should know better than to approach a group of unknown wolves in such a manner! I would hope that you would value your hide a bit more." His deep voice was cold and hard now. Koda shifted his position, so that he might see both strangers at the same time, but his head remained high and his tail curled up and over his back stiffly while his hackles remained raised. His lips lifted just enough to show the ivory tips of his long fangs. He was soft-hearted, which he knew would make his job harder at times, but he would not tolerate any wolf not knowing their place and or not respecting his rank. If that was either of these wolves way of thinking then they could certainly keep moving. He didn't expect groveling, but he had better see some respect now! Although he didn't speak another word, his posture and body language made that perfectly clear to both of the wolves before him.

Well here we go, Ava thought, straight to death's door. Or not, it didn't really matter. It had seemed alpha Koda was not at all pleased with her apparent cheek but she decided to hold her ground. She wasn't part of his pack in any way shape or form so why did she have to listen to him? She followed her own rules, and if it cost her, with her precious hide then so be it. She would just turn tail and run anyway. No use in sticking around if their full intentions turned sour towards her. Well...sour'er she guessed.

"I should, shouldn't I?" She asked him, knowing she had pushed the limit. The large male was already in a dominant alpha position as suited his rank but she refused to budge. She almost said 'bite me' but that suggestion could easily turn into reality and she'd already baited him enough. "I'd been watching you for awhile now so your not exactly what I would call unknown anymore, Koda." She said lightly as if all was well between them. She wondered how he would react at her already knowing his name.
She knew she was being an absolute moron but for the moment she was having fun. This type of sass towards a alpha was second nature to her, she found it fun to rally up wolves who felt that they had authority over others of their kind.

No leader can lead without someone willing to follow. She reflected. She wondered if Koda had ever been a lone wolf anytime in his life. Then maybe he would feel a trace of her unwillfulness to submit. Submitting always made her feel like she was at the other wolf's mercy. And she didn't like it.
Ava made sure she kept an eye on the other three wolves. If they tried anything she would be gone, into the brush and through the woods in an instant. She had been wandering around these woods for awhile and was somewhat familiar with it.
Koda seemed to be on edge, was he mad at her or did he feel like his leadership was slowly slipping away from him like a leaf on the wind? She tilted her head in interest at him. She didn't feel intimidated as she should have been in the face of probable death, or injury. Instead she felt amused.
Though she did feel a nagging sensation that told her that she had shown too much cheek to the alpha to even think about asking to be a member of the pack. If she did ask she sensed it would be taken as an insult. But no use in hiding her personality, if he couldn't see she would be a bad influence on his pack by now he never would.

Eh, she thought, why not take a leap of faith? Get to the point or get out of here.

"I do value my hide quite a bit then you may like to believe by my entrance, I'm guessing. But to get to the point to me actually coming out and facing you unknown wolves." Her tail flicked, as she let it drop down a bit from were it formerly was. "I am looking for a pack to...join, at the moment. Life as a rouge just doesn't seem to fit me, but as you can see or tell pack-life doesn't either. So if you turn me away which you very well seem to be set on...I will go. But not with the the snapping of growls and snarls at my back, if you please." She backed up a few slow steps still giving eyes for eyes with Koda. The more room between them, the better. She wasn't out looking for injures at the moment. Her confident stance didn't waver and inch. But her eyes did harden and her slight smile that was there when she first came out of the forest was indeed long gone. She was bold yes, but not stupid. Her gaze flickered to all the wolves gathered around, warily.

Rontu waited patiently for Koda's response as she carefully observed the exchange between Koda and the presumptuous loner, Ava. Rontu was well practiced in the art of being brazen and obstinate, although she almost always stopped shrewdly right before her toes crossed the line. She prided herself in being clever enough to do so, and being able to get along with most wolves. While she credited the she-wolf for her nerve, to Rontu, her actions seemed exceedingly impudent and ill-considered especially while she was requesting a place within the pack.

She held her position as she glanced between the two conflicting wolves, casting entertained, querying glances at both of them. She sighed inaudibly to herself. The thought of joining a new pack had intrigued her, but if it was going to be just as quarrelsome as the pack she had left behind, it might not be such a perfect opportunity after all, she figured warily. At least Koda seemed to be a capable enough Alpha to deal with these sort of issues. Almost without realizing it, she found herself hoping the alpha male would hold his ground and uphold his rank. Not doing so would only cause additional complications later on that she did not care to deal with.

OOC: Just a quick note for you, Tem. Nina is going to become a guardian now, instead of a huntress.

His light eyes twinkled in the dimness of the remaining day, evaluating this, Shy, in front of her as she stood up facing Nina. She could very well hear the guarded tone in her voice, but their was no anger, nor anything that told the woman that the answer was a definite no. She did not curl her tail up above her, for at the moment, the lady in front of her was an equal to her, and it was why she held her tail at the same height at the one in front of her. The question that was offered to her did not catch her off guard, and the golden female swelled with the memory of her past, of how she had been at all of those encounters and had watched as their past alpha had accepted wolves. She, always being the interrogator, and always loyally watching over their alpha, being the one below her. Nina had never had the urge to challenge her past lady, she did her duty, and that was what she was going to do...for Koda.

Pursing her lips quickly she inhaled before her voice traveled to the other, "We can offer you a family and a home." She was not sure how this wolf would take it, her just explaining it like so. Some wolves preferred living alone, though it was very few, from what she had seen in the past. There was always that pull towards other wolves, the one that longed to feel the companionship that everyone wanted to feel. The love that could come from that and so forth. Her gaze did not waver from the female as she waited for an answer. For if she agreed, then they would soon be on the way. Nina did not like leaving Koda and those other two behind with those other two loners. It went against her gut and she desperately wanted to get back to her soon the be pack mates, she just needed an answer.

Shy gazed evenly at Nina, It would be told at a later time, that the reason she did not immediately leave was because of a pull she felt. Shy had been through territories of packs, met many alphas and even assisted them with things, however the feeling had not been the same as it was right here. Right now, the fae wanted nothing more than to be with this in particular wolf and her pack, for some very strange reason. It was as if a magnetic attraction was drawing her to Nina and whatever pack this was. It was almost a surreal feeling that was coursing through the veins of the warrior. It took several long moments for Shy to realize that Nina was waiting on her response, she had been so absorbed in her own thoughts as to why she even wanted to be here she hadn't spoken.

Shy formed words and sent them spinning into the air. "I will go, and meet your alpha." She offered her company in such a way that still left room for doubt that she would stay. Shy knew not whether or not she was drawn to this place by fate of a better life or by fate of death, if that was so it would be a warriors death. Damn thoughts, of course they won't kill you, cynic." She hated that about herself, she had dealt so often with death in her travels that she often considered what her own would be like and would wonder at it more than she should. Would it be old age or teeth, would she have loved ones to mourn her or would it go unnoticed like the passing of the clouds cross the vast and endless sky. Still she was bound by her word and honor, since she was in the presence of a pack wolf she dipped her head down and lowered her tail, for at the moment, she was lower than this wolf. She was still lone for now.

(Just bringing him up to date with everything)

Kieth stood next to Saru, watching as a black fae emerged from the bushes. She looked confident, but was not acting aggressive. As the fae said her name, he gave a few shakes of his tail. When she stated her intent, he looked at Saru, and saw that she had relaxed her posture. This new she-wolf, Rontu, seemed friendly enough. As a howl pierced the air, Kieth heard Koda order Nina to check it out. But it seemed that Nina didn't like being ordered around. Or maybe it was just Koda.

Then, he heard the sound of a stick snapping. He saw that Saru was looking for the source of the sound. He could see a dark shape in the bushes, and then he heard a soft giggle. Almost inaudible. Coming from the dark shape. He was just about to tell Koda when Nina walked up to him. So she had heard it aswell. Possibly everyone had. Kieth glanced at Koda, wondering how he would handle this. As a new scent penetrated his nose, he saw a new black fae saunter up to them. Her stance exactly like Koda's. He gave a low growl at the new fae, Ava.

He liked fiesty females, but this was just too much. When Koda spoke, he looked at Saru. Just by the look on her face, he could tell she didn't like Ava one bit. And when Ava spoke, she spoke disrespectively. But then she asked if she could join their pack. A look of shock and confusion crossed his face momentarily. First she was being sassy and now she was asking to join them. He gave a small shake of his head. Females, he thought.

It did not seem as though this female would not give her much trouble, but at the sound of her words her ears flickered gently as she bowed before the female. Shy was smart, she knew not to throw promises around into the empty air and that was something that Nina would end up respecting soon into the future. Her voice instantly changed to somewhat of a softer tone, "Please follow me." She then took off into the forest, her paws lightly brushing against the ground as she made her way back towards her alpha. It did not take much time, as it was extremely easy to follow her own scent trail back to the nice clearing they were all in.

When she arrived she was thrilled to see that the spying girl had finally decided to show herself. To see her now, challenging Koda...and just hearing the last words she had uttered brought a large surge of anger to well up within her chest. The protective side of her, the one that came out when something just was not right. With a small snort she twitched her ears as her golden body was light up by the light of the sun, as she went to go stand beside Koda. Nina did not like making fools out of others, but this female obviously did not know when she was pushing the limits. "I do say that trying to dominant the alpha of the group is quite foolish of you...especially if you are going to gain admission into the pack."

A small fire had lit in the depths of her amber eyes, a small challenge gleaming within them, almost begging the girl to start a fight with her so that she could prove to them that she had no limits. That she would be ignorant enough to fight a wolf who clearly had others to back her up. She had made her point clear enough and glancing back over at her creamy friend, she spoke to him, "This is Shy. Shy, this is my alpha Koda." She then let the silence linger in the air. What she had said would be enough and she would gladly step in the next time this...child would decide to test her friend.

"I do say that trying to dominant the alpha of the group is quite foolish of you...especially if you are going to gain admission into the pack."

Ugh, great. She thought, why did Nina have to come back so soon? Ava turned her head and looked at the other female, with a bored expression. Ava was handling things...sort of...not really. Well it wasn't her fault she made the worst impressions...okay maybe it was. She always got a bit aggressive around wolves she didn't know and to face the alpha head on was the only logic she could think of at the moment. When it came to hunting solutions she was all for it but social solutions was something else entirely. If it wasn't for Ava's pride she wouldn't have left the forest and came out and showed her face as a naive fool that she was and wasn't all at the same time. Nina stating the obvious was the least of her problems and after a quick annoyed glance Ava decided to ignore Nina.
Ava didn't even bother to look at Nina when she spoke again she just let her ears take note.

"This is Shy. Shy, this is my alpha Koda."

Ava had faintly remembered that she seen another wolf with Nina when she looked back at her. But Ava still didn't care to glance their way. Ava was too busy thinking.
She could leave turn tail with her tail high, she could stick it out and probably receive a extremely low rank for her cheek, she could attack which would be fatal on her part or she could apologize which went against her nature entirely. Leaving would make her look like a coward, so she cast that thought away. The possibility of receiving a low rank didn't quite sit well with Ava at all, so Ava relaxed her dominant stance to more of a passive aggressive.
She let out a deep breath calming herself. She felt cornered, which made her want to strike out and bite something. She returned her gaze back to Koda ignoring the others. She felt like she had at least a pawhold on the situation now that she had thought things through.

So many wolves! All at once there were so many wolves! Rogue remained curled up beneath the moss covered log, her bright gold eyes staring wide at the assembled group. For a while it was just the three of them. Yet once Koda had howled for his family, wolves started emerging from everywhere. Like they had just leaped from the ground and walked over!

Were they all going to stay? Rogue didn't trust other wolves. She didn't like most of them. Truthfully, she still wasn't sure why she was still hanging around with Koda and Nina. Albeit company was nice for a change, she didn't really confide or speak to them. In fact, they still didn't even know her real name.

Without noticing, Rogue's hackles had raised. Koda was so cool and relaxed, freely welcoming all of these strange wolves...how did he do it? Why did he do it?

What if one of them knew who she was...none of them looked like the type of wolves that were looking for her, but she didn't wan't to trust them all the same. If she caught one whiff of any of these strange new wolves being threatening, she would show them tooth and nail until they ran away--tail between their legs.

Koda's normally calm and collected nature had nearly reached a boiling point with Ava by the time that Nina returned with another wolf in tow. Apparently Nina had heard Ava's cheek and reprimanded her with tone and words. He had no doubt that she would follow through with something more effective if the situation didn't improve. The girl's impudence to challenge him and then seek acceptance had left him speechless for a moment and Nina's return had been a blessing in disguise, as it allowed him to keep his cool and decide how to respond to the disrespectful fae.

He turned his gaze briefly on Nina's charge and nodded a greeting to her, sparing another glance at the tawny Rontu to let her know that he hadn't forgotten her. She and apparently to newest newcomer were prepared to be respectful, unlike Ava. He had more than half a mind to send her packing since he didn't want to start his new pack with such drama. He knew that if he didn't nip this in the bud and set an example for her, the other two faes and his current pack none could be expected to respect him.

Turning hard eyes back towards Avaline, he spoke softly, yet his voice was hard and brooked no quarter. The only thing that saved her from being chased off was the fact that she had indeed relaxed her stance from an outwardly aggressive one to more of a passive aggressive. It was better, but it was not enough. Taking a few stiff steps towards her, his hackles and tail raise to full height he said. "I am not a cruel wolf and I am not overly strict on my rules, save two. Respect me and respect each other! If all in a pack follow those two rules, everything else will fall into place. You protect those that you respect. You help those that you respect. If you cannot understand and follow these rules then you need to leave!" He looked around at all of the wolves around him, new and old for this applied to everyone present.

"On the other hand, if you wish to stay and be a part of something bigger and better than being a loner, then you may stay. But. You. Must. Submit!" With each of the last four words he took one more step closer to her. She had two choices right now. Bare her throat to him and offer her muzzle to him in submission .... or she could run away with her tail tucked between her legs, because he would not allow such impudence and disrespect. His fury must be appeased. He did not like acting like this, but she had pushed him into it and she would pay in submission or she would be rejected.

Gosh, Ava thought, who got his tail in a twist. Alphas I swear... Always grasping on to a leadership that could slip away in a blink of an eye. As he advanced towards her ranting about Rules, blah, blah, blah, Respect, blah, blah, blah. But when he finally got to the thing she was waiting for, Submit, blah blah blah. Yeah okay, she thought. Submit get it over with and hey why not give him a smile to confuse him?

And with that last thought and with Koda towering over her she lower her head in submission, giving him a very amused smile. Her eyes darted back to Nina and then to Saru. Those two wolfesses seemed very bothered with Ava's performance so much so that she could barely hold herself back from saying 'Ta da!' just to see their expressions. She felt like she had once again found a pack whose alpha who overreacted to make other believe they held some authority over problems and situations. Though Ava thought this way, she in no way shape or form wanted to carry the burden of being an alpha but instead found great fun in pushing those who carried it.
She lifted her lowed head back up to its original stance without permission.

"There. I submitted happy?" She knew she was pushing it majorly too far but eh, you only live once right? Though hopefully her life wouldn't end here...
She sat down to make it look like she was making herself comfortable and at home already, when really she was trying to calm her nerves. Her eyes watched every movement around her her ears shifted positions every few seconds to listen to those around her but she overall looked relaxed. The amused smile she had submitted with never wavered and stuck like glue to her face. Now what would Koda make of this? She wondered, he's already trying ever so hard to look like an alpha. She bet he was some wolf who just got up one day and decided 'hey I'm going to start a pack! And set off into the wild to follow through with their plans. SHe bet he was new to his rank because if he was experienced he would have done what wiser alphas had and chased her cheeky self out.
Well, if she was ever going down then she might as well go in style...or fighting whichever came first.

Saru was completely shocked at Ava's entrance. First, the she-wolf comes up to them, her posture competing with Koda's, and then she becomes disrespectful. Giving a disapproving sneeze at the fae's actions, Saru flicked her eyes to Koda. He was handling this like a true alpha would. Bust as he spoke to Ava, his words were cold and hard. She had never heard Koda speak like that, but understood that he had to. Her own hackles raised ever so slightly when the black fae spoke again. The golden female usually never acted like this, but Ava was pushing it too far for her likes. Being sassy to an alpha that you had just met wouldn't be a good idea if you wanted to join.

At Ava's next words "I am looking for a pack to...join." Saru froze. So this female thought she had the right to just come barging in acting sassy to the alpha of their pack and then ask to join? Shaking her head, she glanced at every wolf, before resting her emerald gaze on Koda. She wondered how Koda would act to that, wether he would allow her to join, or not to. Ava then backed up a few steps. Probably thinks that she is in a much safer position if she gets attacked. The golden fae thought.

Her gaze flicked back to the other newcomer, Rontu. The black she-wolf was waiting patiently, with a bemused smile on her face. She hoped that the fae wasn't repelled by the event vurrently happening. It would be a shame if Rontu left, for they needed more members to help guide their fledgeling pack in its infancy stages. Saru especially hoped that the Sapphire Pack got past the rough beginning pretty soon.

Out of the corner of the golden fae's eyes, she saw Nina and a unfamilier she-wolf behind her emerge from the bushes. She gave a few shakes of her tail, happy to see a familier face. She saw Nina make her way to Koda, and just from seeing her body language, Saru could see that Nina was practically begging Ava to start a fight with her. The golden fae hoped that no fight would break out, for she was a peaceful wolf, but at times when it was most needed or she was pushed too far, she would snap. But those momnts rarely happened.

Then, Nina introduced the new fae as Shy. Saru glanced briefly at Shy, she had a mix of browns, blacks and white. The female seemed nice, but once again, looks could be decieving. She looked back at Ava, who atleats had the intelligence to relax her stance into a passive aggresive. She heard Koda speak, his tone still cold toward Ava, and took a few steps toward her, his hackles raised and tail high. She held Koda's gaze for a moments as he looked at all of the wolves in the clearing, one by one. She knew that he meant for all of them to respect and look after each other. And then Koda spoke again, and with each of his last four words, he tok one step closer until he was towering over the black fae. She knew that Ava would have to submit, or face the consequences.

But when Ava lowered her head in submission, she gave a smile. The smallest of growls escaped from her throat at the black fae's behaviour. She caught Ava's eyes for just a second, and saw amusement in her gaze. This she-wolf, who had the nerve to act like she owned everything, was playing it too far. Saru shook her head and looked at Kieth, who she knew would have the same thoughts as her. He never tolerated sassy wolves, especialy when they pushed too far, just like Ava was doing right now.

"There. I submitted happy?" At those words, Saru held a shocked expression on her face. And then watched as the black fae sat down and made as if she was making herself comfortable. Ava looked around constantly, with the same amused smile on her face. The golden fae looked at Ava for a few moments, before settling her gave on Koda, waiting for his reaction to Ava's behaviour.

(Sorry for not waiting, but Koda insisted on an instantaneous reaction to such cheek! >.<)

Stunned. That was the only word that Koda had for what he was feeling right now. Her words, "There. I submitted happy?" were simply another slap in the face. She said that she sought a home and yet with every breath, she challenged his authority, even in her supposed submission. The smile that never wavered and her behavior, acting as if she had the right to not only disrespect him, but every wolf present only inflamed his anger. Had she simply bared her throat without the attitude, all would have been well. As it was, his fury had reached it's limit and he could take no more. Perhaps she didn't realize what true submission was. Today, she would learn.

With a ferocious snarl, he was one her, intending to get her neck between his lethal fangs. His eyes blazed golden fire as he closed the scant gap left between them. She now had two more choices to make in the next split second. Get on her back and beg for her life with her tail tucked or if she was truly lucky and faster than lightning she could try and outrun his attack and she might still lose some of her insolent pelt. He had no intention of killing her, but she would learn to respect him the hard way or be chased off forever.

The reaction she had gotten from the female thrilled her. It seemed as though sense had finally clicked into the fools mind as she stood before them. Would she truthfully pick a fight with a group of wolves who were obviously sticking together? It did not seem as though the black wolf would acknowledge her anymore. But it seemed enough sense had clicked into her mind to "respect" Koda. Lifting her head, she growled softly to her friend, as if encouraging him to put her into her place. Thankfully, he did, otherwise, Nina would have gladly stepped in. Amber eyes stared at Ava, her tail just a fraction lower than Koda's own. Lips pursed, she watched the exchange carefully, it not coming a shock when the female was highly disrespectful when submitting to their alpha.

Instinctively, her lips curled back into a snarl, not a sound coming off of her lips. Something flashed in her eyes as Koda jumped towards the female, Nina's own heart speeding up a beat or two when it looked like he had landed on her. Quickly, the golden brown female made her way to the side, ready for a chase if one was to ensue. This female had tested all of their patience and now she was going to pay for it.

As the woman watched on with cold eyes, she took a chance to glance back at Shy, an apology in her eyes as they quickly flickered back to the disrespectful girl. Her paws were ready to fly and fangs ready to tear flesh if this female did manage to get out of Koda's grasp. She could only remember a few other times when Koda had acted like this, it had been under quite funny, yet serious circumstances though. Her tail swayed above her back, though still lower than her alpha's, waiting for her opportunity to hunt. Glaring at the female, she stood, balanced on her legs and just waiting for the girl to make another mistake.

Aww the snapping of jaws in front of her nose sprung Ava into action. Those fangs were all she could see, as she moved her body a little clumsily to the side. She may have been small but she made it up with her speed, but again just barely. She saw nothing but Koda the large male in front of her and would have let out a laugh if she hadn't been gambling with her life. Stupid, stupid, stupid. She chided herself jumping back and backing up a few paces back towards the brush she had came from. Her tail wasn't between her legs, in fact she could barely stop herself from raising her over her head in a challenge. Not today! She thought, she knew what Koda was demanding from her. Total and complete submission, showing her belly, neck and all. But she wouldn't do it. Perhaps extremely idiotic on her part but if Koda wanted her down he was going to have to put her there.

Her ears plastered themselves to the back of her head and her lips drew back in warning. Today, I'm going to die. Today I'm going to die! She head a voice singing in her head. Today indeed. She agreed with the little voice. To flee, fight or submit? She asked herself. Just how badly did she wish to be accepted into this pack? She wondered not quite sure why she started all this drama in the first place. She looked behind her for a second to make sure there were no wolves behind her. Gratefully there weren't.

She wondered if such a wonderful pack that she had come to hope for even existed. Maybe it would if she died? But there was one thing she was quite sure about, she had no intentions of dying until she was old and decrepit and that day wasn't today.

Her fight or flight signals were on and adrenaline flowed through her system in a rush, making her edgy. She was extremely tense and cast an eye over to Nina and almost snarled. She automatically strongly disliked that wolfess, she could tell the day when they ever got along was the day when hell froze over. Which indeed was absolutely never. The same would probably go for Saru, she could see that wolfess was as eager as Nina to see that Koda put Ava in her place.

Better to live to fight another day than to die right? And she was a bit tired of wandering around endlessly, plus this was the best pack she'd met so far. They hadn't chased her out yet right? But the thought of full submission made her cringe. Get it over with. She told herself, she gave a hard look at Koda before flipping over on her back and showing her belly fur. Tough she hid her neck by keeping her chin on her chest. This was as far as she would go. Then she got back to her paws not trusting the wolves around her long enough to keep the submissive position for more than a couple of seconds. This wasn't over, yes she started it, but she was determined she would finish it. Maybe even stick around long enough to move up ranks but that she doubted hugely. She was lucky she even made it this far. Her stance returned to what it was before her ears still back, though her lips only showed a bit of her white teeth this time and her tail didn't move to her belly but instead was relaxed behind her. Her intense amber gaze was still fixed on Koda, watching his next move.

The more Rogue watched this new rebellious wolf, the more, in spite of herself, she liked the stranger. Half of herself was snarling at the disrespect she was showing Koda, but the other half wanted to grin and congratulate the she-wolf on her guts.

Rogue had grown up as a loner, and knew that submitting was exactly what loners learned not to do. Showing weakness was inviting death itself. To her, this defiant wolf was in every aspect--a survivor. Rogue was ready for a wolf of this sort to come into the pack. This was someone she wanted to meet...wanted to befriend. Someone like herself.

When everything went wrong, Rogue no longer wanted to be the invisible wolf. Koda had launched himself upon the fae, and Nina looked about ready to do the same. A moment of conflict roared inside Rogue, torn by two sides--but she could no longer help herself.

Launching from her hiding spot she ran a few paces closer before stopping; pale as a ghost, and as silent as one. Her large golden eyes didn't blink, merely they stared as the rebellious wolf flashed her underside in submission.

Rogue was among the other wolves now, and feeling very vulnerable. Just seven feet away from Koda and Ava, and it was as if she had materialized there. Whether Koda thought she was running to his aid or the stranger's, she didn't know. Only she hoped he didn't know the truth.

Rogue definitely wanted Ava to be in the pack.

Shy kept her silence as a very peculiar scene unfolded directly before her. Ava seemed to have a major problem with authority, and the one called Koda, whom shy assumed to be the alpha male of the pack appeared ready to tear her apart. A mere nod was offered in the midst of all the turmoil. Yet Shy did not return it merely she waited until she would be able to show them the type of wolf she was. Words were tossed back and forth and a half of a submission. Insubordination which grated on Shy's every last nerve, yet she remained in place with no word, nor movement. Her gaze was merely interested. Koda leaped toward the fae and she seemed to realize how ridiculous she was being.

It was when the dust settled that Shy began to stride forward keeping her head and tail level with her shoulders. Neutral as she was she step to one side of Koda and bared her fangs "Fool, to submit is to survive, I am a bred warrior and none too proud to show my belly and throat to a superior, what makes you so special?! Only a fool would dare disrespect an alpha as you have today and if you continue to do so I shall chase you off of their lands myself!" The word were growled calmly Shy was not one to let things go unbridled if they could be detrimental. Her calm barely masked as she told her old title, Warrior was only one the others were not so glorious, Murderer they called her.

This fae, Ava. She was pushing way to far for his likes. A growl errupted from Kieth's muzzle before he could stop it. With every breath she was challenging Koda's authority, but was also asking for a place in the pack. From his experience, that was one way to not join a pack. After all, you have to submit to your leader or face the consequences. The grey male watched as Koda closed the gap between himself and the black fae. Movement from Nina caught his attention briefly as she made her way to the side, her lips pulled back in a snarl.

Then, Ava flipped onto her back, showing her belly but hiding her neck with her chin on her chest. It was just a few moments before the fae got back to her feet, and her stance returned to what it was before. Kieth was aghast at her actions. First, she shows slight submission to her alpha, and then returns back to her passive aggressive stance as if nothing had happened. Shaking his head, the grey male looked away from Ava just before a shape darted out from somewhere. He let out a soft growl, there were too many wolves around him to keep track of. But it was a few moments before he realized that it was Ebony. By the looks of it, it seemed that the white fae didn't want to be out in the open, and it certainly looked as if she was rushing to the aid of Koda, and then had had second thoughts about her actions.

The grey male watched as the new fae, by the name of Shy as Nina had told them just before, strode up to Koda in a neutral position with her head and tail level with her shoulders. She bared her fangs before speaking to Ava. Kieth silently agreed with Shy, as she was correct. Even a lone wolf would sometimes have to submit to its superiors, especially if they didn't want to. And that was the downfall of some loners: from not submitting when it was needed. He had done it himself a few times, mainly to avoid fights. He looked briefly at Saru before back at Koda and Ava. She was also staring at Koda and Ava. Hopefully, this mess would be sorted out soon and they could finish their trek to the Diamond Pack territory.

Ava let out a yawn as a female came up and started ranting about Ava's latest unsuccessful performance. "Are you done yet?" She asked annoyed giving the female a cold gaze showing that the female's opinion didn't matter in the least to her.

"To submit is to survive? And you call me a foolish idiot, you can survive without submitting girl. The world's laws of survival aren't set in stone, because you as an individual and perhaps others around you as well, set them. Survival is what you make of it." She said in a sort of teachers voice.

"And to answer your stupid and very obvious question, I make myself special I choose to stand out by means you deem foolish. But to me it does not matter this is simply the way I am. If this pack wanted me gone, Koda over there and the rest of his pack would've been done tearing into my body by now." She said matter a factly and smirked at the annoying female.

"Also these are not even their packlands for there were no borders marked when I entered this forest. So chase me off their territory? There is none to chase me from around here." Ava flashed her teeth in warning to the boring female.
"But ah your just another loner yourself aren't ya? So what business is it of yours in telling me how to act? None. So if you would be so kind, stay out of my way." Ava concluded taking one warning step towards the female with a snarl followed by a snap of her jaws. So far this was the best pack she'd found, she wasn't going to leave because some snotty loner gave a puny threat to tell her off. Ava had been wandering a bit too long to even bothering herself with thinking about others views on her. If she didn't hear it or it was behind her back no biggy she didn't care, but say it too her face and you meet her fangs.

Thinking she had proved her point she ignored the new female loner Nina had brought back and turned back to Koda, wondering what he would make of this. Eh, not that she really cared all that much, she lied to herself. But she did oh yes she did. She was thrown out her thoughts when Ava spotted another female on the scene, she was white and looked like she was part of the pack but majorly uncomfortable and didn't seem to know exactly why she came. Ava ignored her presence along with everyone else around her, and focused on Koda. He was the only person whose judgement mattered at the moment.
She let go of her passive aggressive a bit more so is began tethering on the edge between it and neutral.

The moment Shy heard the insult drawn into the words the other she wolf said she pointedly turned her back and began to stalk away, very deliberately stopping at Koda's side crouched in submission and said, for his ears only "You do not know me, my name is Shy, I hope to better speak with you when this fool is dealt with, and for your consideration, I may not be of your pack but I would gladly help you drive her out." The last few words were lightly growled as she continued to stalk away she caught the final insult, and spun on her own length, she leaped towards the other with utter grace. As her paws met the ground before the she wolf, she huffed in her face and snapped her teeth once. "Keep your tongue and your insults in your head."

Shy waited until she had passed the leader before her head raised to a proud position and stepped into the shadows at the edge of the clearing though not out of sight, she waited. Waited for the judgement that would come to this fae whom seemed to think herself too god for a pack. It was disrespect like that that killed wolves in her line. You could not spit on an alphas demands as she had. This Koda had the patience of a saint if he was still able to stand while she committed such acts in blatant disrespect of the alpha. She may not know it but without submission she was a full threat to the very pack she was trying to join.

Koda was furious. She just wouldn't give in. Though she submitted, it was brief and hardly heartfelt. Although he was fairly sure that a flicker of understanding had entered the fae's mind, it was almost a joke for her. He could see that. She was either plumb stupid or she had some serious guts. Perhaps both. Something told him that there was something about her that might be worth taking a chance on. A larger part of him told him that she would be far more trouble than she was worth.

He was a bit surprised when the stranger Shy moved upon Ava with harsh words that rang true. Ava's response that there were no borders, might be true, but that hardly excused her behavior. When Shy retreated to a spot farther away from the foolish girl, he gave her a nod of appreciation. At least she had a clue about respect and earning good will. But this was his problem and if he couldn't handle one disrespectful fae, how could he lead a pack?

Once more he advanced on Ava, fangs bared, hackles raised and tail high above his back. Through the raging rumble in his chest he ground out an answer to her words to Ava. "The reason that you are still in one piece, is that I have not yet chosen to rip you a new hide!" he snarled. "Indeed, these are not our pack lands for where we are headed is far better, but take a look around you, girl. You are surrounded by wolves. My pack. My family! You say that you want entrance and yet you insult me and every wolf here with your actions." He had to stop a moment for the fury welled up in him, begging him to attack her.

If she didn't become one of them, he hoped that she might take away an iota of understanding that might save her life in the future. "Yes, one can live on their own. But is mere survival enough? I think not! I've been there and it is an empty existence. To be a part of something bigger and better is to have a purpose. Something more than just eking out survival as a loner." He stepped even closer, his muzzle just inches from her own, lips still drawn. "Ava? One last thing. When you submit to your alpha, you don't get up until they say so!" With that, he lunged at her throat once more. If she didn't stay down this time, he would be done with her.

"Koda."

Rogue finally decided to speak up against her better judgment. Normally she wasn't very active in the pack. She merely hung around the other wolves, just a silent ghost, and brought back prey when she hunted--on her own. But this time she was going to speak up. The longer this was drug out, the worse it was going to get.

Stepping forward, Rogue came into view from Koda's position by Ava's throat. Her head was respectfully lowered, her stark golden eyes gleaming eerily.

"You gave me a chance," she said softly. Only him and Ava would be able to hear. "I was a hopeless case too. Let her stay. She will learn."

No more could be said in words, but Rogue knew that Koda would understand much more just by the look in her eyes. Sometimes she wondered how he became the wolf he was, because she had never met a wolf like him before. He was...different.

"Don't drag this out." Without another word Rogue merely dipped her head in respect of her alpha, and disappeared in the fringes of the forest to watch the rest of it unfold.
